Why we are here
David Joyce was a much-loved son, brother, grandson, uncle, cousin, and nephew. He was also a greatly admired friend and colleague. His death, and the circumstances surrounding it, has inspired a determination to improve support for those affected by mental health crises.
David’s legacy lives on through a commitment to ensuring that every person in crisis is heard, understood, and given the opportunity to access the help they need.
Our Mission
David’s Dash exists to:
Raise awareness of suicide prevention and mental wellbeing
Connect people in crisis with the support they need
Champion the voices of individuals, families, and communities affected by
suicide
Promote inclusion of lived experience in care planning and service design
Campaign for improvements in mental health services and suicide prevention
policies
Support learning from tragedies to help prevent future deaths
Encourage everyone to focus on living well despite the challenges.
